rim slection

I'm a nebbie and i'm looking for the right rims for my 89 RX-7.
I'm looking at the Work Emotion CR Kai 17x9 +15 offset, and 18x9.5 +19 offset.
But when i called a dealer they said nah dude they will stick to far out.
I saw the details on a Jap 88 RX-7 and they look great, so Y is this dude telling me they will look bad.
The car wuz in the April 06 Modified Mag

Check the FAQ. It has info on rim sizes and offsets that'll work and how much is necessary to get them right.
