Been a long time since I tried various wheels on the Mazda, but this will give you an idea as to where the wheels will be when compared to the OE specs.

8.5"-20-Inner part of the wheel will be out farther by only a fraction (<1/16") but add 1.50" to the outer.

9"-20-Inner 3/16" closer, outer 1.75" out.

If it's a friend, just try them on the car, but if they are installed, looks like you'll have the poked look.
