Right rear caliper leaking from Ebrake lever attach point?
Apprears to be leaking out of the top pivot point of the ebrake lever? Is there a fix for this? Is it common? I'm trying to prep the car for a race tonight and of course noone stocks a rebuilt caliper.
Anyone know if this is repairable? I'd really like to go out racing tonight!
Thanks

yes this is a case for a rear caliper rebuild. You can get the kit from mazdatrix and you will need the special tool from most auto repair places for tightening import calipers. You also will need new e-brake connector bearings and most likely will need a brake picton honing stones and tool/adapter.
mmm... I would suggest also that you use a pilot bearing puller with a slide hammer to get the old bearings and beaing sleeves out.
Its pretty easy to do really, just need the right tools. In order to get the bearing sleeve out I broke out the bearings with a screwdriver and then you are left with a little edge that the pilot bearing puller can grip to and you can pull the sleeve right out. Then tap GENTLY on the new bearings and make sure of proper alignment with the hole in the bearings and the hole in the caliper.
Check FSM for complete instruction on rebuilding them. Do both calipers at the same time.
