right front headlight acting weird

well my right front headlamp motor will not stop moving at all, even with the switch in the down position its has gone crazy!!! everythings is good with the key off, headlight switch in the down postion but as soon as i go to put them in the up position the left front goes up but the right front goes up and down, up the down. The only way to stop it is by pulling the fuse. im out of ideas, I am thinking that the electronics inside the motors have failed. Does anyone have any idea? Thank you

Stuck relay. It should be near the headlight somewhere. Unplug it and clean the contacts with a file. You might need to use pliers to bend a tab in a hair if you file off too much metal. Or might have to bend it out if it's too close for some reason. A 12V battery and a multimeter would help test it, otherwise you just gotta keep putting it in and out of your car until you get it working.

Happened to me on 2 RX-7s.

I was thinking that as well, but i dont have a relay on the exterior of my motor, its internal, unless you are thinking of a different relay.

Is it an 1989+? Is the relay somewhere else on that model? I think you just have to find it. Should be dangling on a cable no more than a foot away from the headlight, or maybe it's supposed to be mounted and mine just weren't.

if there is a relay, why is it not in the wiring diagram as a seperate component?

Early 86 and 87 have a retract relay on each side. I've posted pictures and part numbers in the past for those cars. Your original post had no year of the car in question. It is shown in the 87 manual.

Later models don't have those two retract relays. It's all internal with those cars.
