Ricer intake on my FC

my friend had an old intake on his integra and he just got a new one so he gave me his old cone filter, its the Ractive one that looks like an HKS SS bov, so we put it on today.
Apparently, my stock intake was choking my engine because now my car pulls much better in the top end (power would fall off above 6k or so with the stock airbox)
here is a pic

it also makes my car sound much different at WOT.

I had a friend who had that one on his 88TII. He cut it in half for more flow and used the remaining side as a "heat shield".

Doesn't look like it flows much air. Is it all plastic with a 2+" opening at the front?

It may not be pretty, but it will hook up to a cold ram air source very nicely.

Free 1 PSI boost anyone?
