I actually have an 89 FC Turbo II (JDM and RHD) that I imported from Japan last year. Because it's RHD and the VIN# is a Japanese one, my insurance company charges me double for my policy just because of the RHD issue. I've been debating on buying an FC shell (LHD) and porting over the parts or just the vin #'s.. but something tells me that legally I'm not supposed to do this. :dunno: Doing so would save me $1500/year on my insurance! Any recommendations? Serge but i dont know about Canada laws... thats what you could do here. Plus in Florida, theres absolutley no inspections what so ever. |

starting on some of the body issues. there was only two rust areas that needed attending to.
1. where the stock wing bolts to the rear. 2. the sunroof area. since im never going back to the stock wing. Im patching all the holes and rust spots with new metal and then grinding it all flat. there will be 2 tiny holes at the front of the RE wing to hold it down. and the rest of it will be held down with very strong double sided tape. just like some people do there side skirts... I had to remove the entire sun roof asembly today because the thing was rusted out very badly in one area. after it came down, damn near my whole interior was filled with metal bits broken down from rust. it isnt that bad everywhere. just one main area was REAL bad. but a new sun roof assembly is needed. and some patching needed on the roof too... |

Tiggin away. I was going to just MIG it in. would of been much much quicker. but these leave much smaller welds, so its easier for me to grind away. i would much rather spend my time welding than grinding.

dont mind the belt. its a thing between a few friends and family. who ever is the "champ" at the time, holds the belt. My brother just challanged my in his turbo 86 corolla. i'll remain champ though...lol

i grinded down all the welds for the wing and threw some primer on it. then used scotch (3M) super duty double sided tape to secure most of it down. it has one screw at each front end of the wind to secure the front down.
i didnt take any pics becuase the wing dosnt look any different now installed than it did before... now on to the sun roof problem. i think i might just leave the assembly out and make some small mounts for it to bolt down from the inside. i would save a bunch of weight. and if i wanted some sunlight and air from the roof. i could quickly lossen the nuts and remove it. like T tops... unless someone has a better idea? |

if you have a front clip sitting there and your car ready to go. you could have it running and driving in under 2 weeks. but you have to be dedicated. i worked on my car 7 days a week to get it done... literally. |

Hypertek: GT-X or GT-R badges would be better as the infini IV was never offered in white. That is if the OP was planning on keeping it white. I say check out corksport like stated above and you should be able to get the Savanna and GT-X or GT-R decals!
Props on doing this swap! You did a great job on it and looks clean as hell! Props on posting pictures of the process as well. Would love to see some more pics as you get more finished on it. Very nice and thanks for sharing! |

I finally put a boost gauge in the car so i can step on the gas to see what it has. i didnt want to do this without a gauge incase of overboosting and breaking the motor.
the car feels awesome even at half and 3/4 throttle. climbs to 8psi very quickly and holds there. i didnt full throttle yet because im going to put a wideband on it just to make sure everything is OK. it came with a pre tuned Pan-Speed ECU and i dont know what adjustments have been made. along with my own upgrades. i just want to make sure everything is running good. there is a dyno day down the street from me on the 20th. i might put it on there to see what it does... |

I got this lip from rob xx 7 on here... looks even better in person.

you cant see it, but i finally dropped the heavy ass USDM bumper brace and swapped it for the much lighter JDM one with the JDM yellow fogs.
I still plan to add RE-amamiya mirrors and slightly wider front fenders. I have the TII hood, but i been rocking it with no hood right now. im bringing the 60's muscle back with no hood Japan style...lol |

This has always been my first upgrade. but the stock fan cools better than most electric fans i have used, including the e-fan (wich draws HUGE amounts of power). Plus on this car, im trying to keep it as stock as possible under the hood. Just cleaning it up with basic upgrades. Im not going to add a front mount or bigger turbo, or anything like that. just clean and simple for this one. |
