all i know is... the firewall is a "Mirrored" thing, so dont cut it, only make holes on the other side. the chassis was designed for either to be put in into the same shell (side of holes) THEN comes the vin #.

Says the dude who has never seen a JDM firewall.

Replacing the firewall is the correct way to do it. If you are keeping the AC I would just swap the firewall. It is a bit quicker in amount of time doing it my way vs. swapping it. The choice depends on what type of after work you want to do to the car. Cutting lose the aprons and front lower pan and tunnel is a PITA if not needed. If your are 12point caging and seam welding you might want to consider it. FC uses a 3 ply firewall I prefer to do this on this type of firewall. Much simpler if you take care of the lip.

The big deal is having the metal in the correct place when you weld it up. If you cut the firewall lose you lose a tone of strength and I would recommend placing the car on a frame machine if doing this. When you cut lose the panes and tunnel the front sub frame can collapse easily as it is only held in place from the front lower frame rails. Considering most people jack the car up the chassis can twist very easy. Not to mention the car has to be completely striped to perform this swap.

The fact is if you have done far more complicated work then this "note there is not much more difficult in the auto industry" why the hell are you asking?

ok this what i did on mine take everything off your lhd car then clean it out. then when you take stuff off the rhd get a tape and pen and mark hole and make sure to trace the edge that will be your guide to the other side. measure twice drill and cut once. every thing will bolt together. the make stuff will bolt on the medals and the pedals will bold on the dash. all you have to do is custom the gas medal but its not that hard take the braket off and weld it or drill holes. the left foot rest i didnt put in gotta do some welding so i just didnt bother with it. the down side to cuting and drilling is not having the put the heater and ac stuff. the wiring takes a while i just wire the important stuff at the back the fuel brake light reverse and stuff. i used a jdm wiring harness i heard another guy that use the us version one but alot of work. if you have any question pm me.

hope i help
