rewired fuel pump question. i think i got it wrong?

ok i did my fuel pump rewire on my S5 rx7 and theres 4 wires for the fuel pump connectors and i have a thick black/white, thick black, thin blue and thin red and in the forum they told me on my last tread before i did it is that blue is power to the fuel pump and black is ground. on idle i have 14v on the blue wire, close to 12v on the black/white wire (11.70v to11.90v), 0v on the red and black one. is that correct? or did i mess up somewere

Deleted. My god, a slip of the finger hits the space bar and the message is Sent. How crude. What a dumb forum setup.

See answer below.

On a series four turbo car:

At the fuel pump plug itself, the half that is a part of the pigtail to the pump itself, the BLACK/WHITE wire is the power wire and the black wire is the ground.

The plug that mates to the fuel pump pigtail plug, has a large BLUE wire that is the power for the pump. IF you notice, when you couple both halves of the plug, the BLACK/WHITE will mate with the large Blue wire. Same with the two blacks. They will mate with each other.

The other wire colors are for fuel level, fuel low etc and are not players. Much like Alonzo in F1, not a player anymore. Just another Frog.

The 1300cc.com write up says that like hailers said, the two thinner wires are for the fuel level sender and the two thicker wires are for power/ground. However the colors of the wires change frequently through out the series 5 production run so check and double check with a multimeter.

so pretty much youre telling me i mess up. i didnt folow the 1300cc one i follow this one that they give me on the forum https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...chmentid=48650 and when i asked because i know this is a S4 diagram somebody told me that the fuel pump one was blue green. so when i checked my wiring is black/white, black, red and blue so i thought it was the blue one that it was refered. so is black/white right and not blue?

There's two halves to the fuel pump plug.

You only alter the half of the plug that is a part of the chassis harness.

You do not cut or alter the half of the plug that is a part of the fuel pump pigtail harness.

In other words, the MALE half of the plug shown in my jpg in a post above, does not get altered. You only mess with the female (confirms your hetrosexual) humor

I suggest you ignore the colors and use a Multimeter and test out the lines. Especially since you're trying to use a Series 4 diagram on a Series 5 Car/Wiring. The 1300cc one is specific to series 5.

That is the same procedure from Dale Clark's write-up on 1300cc.com. I made the schematic from his instructions to use when I did this on my car. It shows the rewiring at the pump being done on the harness side, and the colours reflect that. I did this deliberately so that the pump can be unplugged and removed if necessary without cutting any of the wires you added.
