Reviews on Racing Beat Exhaust
Just looking for some reviews from people who have or know anyone who have owned a Racing Beat exhaust. Doesn't matter if it's just a catback, muffler, or true duals. Please let me know your experience and reviews on them. Thanks.
I run with the downpipe + pre-silencer, aka the cat replacement setup. The sound is good, not too loud, but loud enough to notice. I have had it for the last 2 years now without any regrets. The DP and pre-silencer are made out of quality material. After taking it out of the box it came with, it really felt like it would outlast the rest of the car. RB has some really nice quality products I'd recommend RB to anyone.
Rev tii system, excellent unit
if you are going for a really loud exhaust this is not the one for you, its a softer more refined sound.
As others have said it just feels like quality even in your hands

I had the RB Turbo back mufflers on the car (89TII) and just didn't enjoy the drone when at highway speeds, so took it off and put the OE system back on. Removed the precat, added a Bonez Hi Flow cat, original Y pipe along with the original mufflers, added a Hallman MBC and run the car at 11/12 lbs. and it has been fine for the last 9 years.
I've used both the N/A presilencer and catback street exhaust on my 89 vert. When I went to a turbo swap I got the Rev TII complete exhaust. I then put N/A exhaust on my father's 90 vert. Both exhausts have been rock-solid. It's loud enough that the drone of highway driving makes talking on the phone a little difficult. But like other members have said, it's a refined, even pleasant tone.
One thing to know is that both my exhausts have hung low and out of balance on the driver-side. There was a thread a while back I tried to find and link but couldn't find. A while back someone started a thread about RB exhaust all seeming to hang low on the driver-side compared to passenger-side. I remember alot of people coming forward and saying that theirs hung out of balance. IIRC the consensus was that the RB and possibly all dual exhaust should be tweeked when hanging it so that it hangs even. Either take it to an exhaust shop or if you have the tools heat and bend. That's close as I remember the thread.
My experience with that is that the N/A exhaust hung low on driver-side in both my and my father's vert. The Rev-TII exhaust hangs equally out of balance.

I've got the REV TII downpipe and catback w/ a custom Borla XR-1 midpipe. I got it to replace my Greddy Power Extreme that was damaged in an accident.
RB gets top marks in every category except weight , and appearance (depending on what you wanna do w/ your car, for example, an RB system looks silly w/ a rear diffuser but then again N1 duals look silly on stock bodied cars , especially non-lowered ones...) However that's largely a matter of taste.
You certainly won't be dissapointed no matter which RB system you choose.

85 GSL SE, True Dual - Excellent!!
88 TurboVert, Rev II Turbo back - Excellent!!
91 TurboVert, Rev (original) Turbo back - Excellent!!
91 AutoVert NA, dp, presilencer, Y-pipe, Cans - Exellent, albeit the RB cans are a bit louder than stock cans.

Have the collected race header. 2.5 inch pipe all the way to the RB muffler. 10 horse increase (also have safc tune, everything else stock). Its quiet, smooth progression. lines go up nicely, not jagged on the graph. Still not fast enough or enough of a power gain for what they cost tho. Not to me anyways. Will be selling mine shortly. Lemme know if you want it
My bad, I have no idea what I read then a while ago. Just remember reading something like that somewhere.

LOL @ Jimmy
Not X pipe..... you meant Y pipe. And then you had it backward. Cat back HAS the Y pipe, splitting off the presilencer/Cat to the two exhaust cans.
As corrected true dual is I I, separate pipes front to rear.
That is too funny.

Bought the RB Rev 2 about 4 years ago shipped from cali. shipping was decent packaging was great. All came complete gaskets, bolts, exhaust components. All went on perfect and took little amount of time. Drivers side does hang a little lower I just bought new rubber hangers anyway so went a little shorter on the drivers side and they hang evenly. Wanted bigger exhaust tips for the longers time but it really has grown on me and now i love the rear of the car. Great exhaust, all SS, Bolted right up, sounds great with a large streetport(very mild and sleeperish), great welds, held up no problems last 4 years and looks brand spanking new everytime I clean it. I hang the mufflers lower so you can see the triangle with the RB etched in em just slightly. Best $ spent on car period....
I also have te rev t2 on my AE (which also has a large streetport) and it is the best exhaust I have had on an RX-7. Just loud enough, but not too loud to cause any unwanted attention.
My DS muffler also hangs lower than the PS, but I'll fix that soon, should be an easy fix.

Hydraulic jack with piece of wood cushion to ds can, raise to max
tighten all nuts and bolts at all connection points
release jack, and all should line up fairly well.
Im glad I read this thread.. I always wondered why my driver side hung lower than passenger.
I have the full REV II system on my 10AE and I love it. First the color, its chrome but it looks kinda bronzy to me. Second, they sound amazing. The exhaust has a nice low note to it, and will NEVER be mistaken for a honda. Third, I love the way the mufflers angle upwards. It's beautiful!

SS not chrome... the bronze color is the heat of the exhaust turning it slightly. If you wash the cans with aluminum cleaner or any car wash for that matter it should reveal the like new color of pure stainless steel. Like I said had the exhaust 4 years and running about 300rwhp and still looks like the day I got it minus scrape marks and couple dents on the presilencer and rear mufflers dragging on speed bumps.
i love the REVII!
did some tweaking to it aswell.
i replaced the first damper with a straight 3" pipe, because i found the exhaust too be too quiet (although i might put it back now that i got the BNR stage4 which makes it a hell of a lot louder
)
i lengthened the y pipe by 40mm and rewelded the hangers, so my GPsports rear bumper wont catch on fire
