Revesre lights a no go

My reverse lights do not work. I check the bulbs, connections at the lights and the connections on the tranny, I even cleaned all the connectors with acetone and still no luck. Is there a fuse just for the reverse lights?

me too... i first noticed it right after i replaced my clutch... so it may have had me messing up the connections to the tranny or they may have died before then...

Here's a thought. Not sure how accurate but....

Maybe it's the back up switch on the tranny itself?

Yea, I'm with ^^^

I know thats what was causing mine not to work. It was just a dangling wire until one day the dumbass that I am managed to rip the wire out, or really break it off. Crawl under your car and see if its connected. If it is you can look elsewhere.

I had checked and cleaned the connectors on the tranny. There are only 4 of them correct? Does the tranny back light swith ever go bad?

Also to remove the switch if it is bad, do you need to remove the tranny or drain the fluid?

Ok I just got back from sanding the **** out of the connectors to make sure they had a good contact... And low and behold that was the problem! LOL!!!

So everyone that is haveing the same problem, sand the hell out of ALL of the metal connectors and see if that fixs it!

Not a bad idea. My problem started mid winter (damn salt). Again, waiting for snow to go away.

no they are copper, so they just corrode, if they look like a greenish blue then sand them and that will hopefully fix it...
