Reverse gearing problems...

You know .. this is just like last year's winter.. and the car having loads of problems down the road. I think my car hates winter.

I had put this on one of the mailing list, but I think my email is messing up again, and hasn't reached the list (that or it's yahoo groups...)

anyway:

I tried for a half an hour to almost an hour trying to get my car into reverse. It would not go. I had to eventually put it into
neutral and push the car out of the parking lot inorder to move her. Does this mean that my reverse is long gone and dead?? I tried
it again tonight, and it wouldn't budge either.....

I am so confused, and really am not looking forward to either replacing the tranny, or that one gear.....help, please.

do you mean the stick will not actually move into the reverse position or the car won't budge. Check if there are leaks around the slave clutch cylinder. Is it an auto

Have you check the condition of your shifter and its bushings? Its a possibility.

If they are ok your reverse linkage has probably gone bad
