Restoring Your Throttle Body: A Step by Step Guide of What it Takes.
Out of curiosity, anyone got a source for getting new seals and bushings for the FC throttle body?
Say, for instance, I may have removed the double throttles and plugged the remaining holes with pipe plugs like this useless how-to described. Where can I get new bushings and seals if I still have the butterflies and shaft?
And I completely agree that it's the worst mod you could ever do to an FC. I really want to un-molest my molested throttle body.

I went with black to break up all the silver I have in the engine bay. Also wanted a nice contrast of the black throttlebody with the silver parts on it. To each their own there, if someone wants a purple throttlebody, go for it if that's what you want.
As far as this metered leak, I just thought that gasket was damaged, didn't think mazda would design that in
That would be a great idea.

i honestly don't even know why they put it there. i have run mine blocked off for some time and haven't noticed any ill effects. i can only assume they figured it would put sideways pressure on the rod and wear the butterflies. sometimes engineers tend to overthink things.
The engineered leak is to prevent boost from leaking into the coolant system, or to prevent boost from prying the flange open and causing some coolant loss.
My guess is that in testing, they found it to be a problem, and it was easier to simply machine in a boost leak than to alter the casting molds to create a stronger mating flange to solve the problem.

just got done stripping my s4 throttle body like in this thread. is there anything i can use to grease the springs/linkages?
i would feel pretty foolish if i spent all this time cleaning it to have the throttle stick

The nonsense you're talking about is explained quite well here and in similar threads. There's a good reason for it, whether you want to accept it or not.
I just bought a new one from a member on here. I am very thankful for getting one for $60 shipped. The old clogged with JB weld one will probably just sit in my storage for a while till I get around to selling or restoring it. Thanks for the "How To" I never would have even taken the throttle body apart if it weren't pictured and I would have kept rechecking good vacuum lines still wondering why my car didn't accelerate until after 3,000 rpm.
I received the new throttlebody today. There are no coolant passages inside the throttlebody on a S5 N/A. You may want to mention that. Does anyone have a good tuning guide for these things? I don't see how it is possible to view the position of the cam when it is on the vehicle let alone adjust the low speed needle.
