Replacing OEM cats on my '87 TII
My car is stock and I'm not that interested in modifying, however a slight increase in power is more than welcomed.
I'm thinking about a Corksport downpipe with stock flange and a new OEM style replacement main cat-converter.
I would like to keep my OEM mufflers and Y-pipe... for now. My goal is to simply replace the worn parts to an extent to not worry about porting the wastegate and upgrading the fuel/ecu.
Just thought I'd post for opinions/comments and/or suggestions.
Thanks guys,
Sodara

www.rx7.com sells Bonez cats for this. Doesn't cost much more than OEM. The cat (or header or downpipe or other cat replacements) is the biggest increase in power you can get, so I'd jump at the opportunity. A lot cheaper than mufflers and so on too. I dunno but if you stop there I don't think you'll need fuel management, as there's already a margin of safety from the factory. Hopefully a turbo pro will confirm. Ya, do it man.
