Replacing injectors

How long would it take to replace injectors? I'm about to pick up a 87 and need to know if i could just bring some tools and spair injectors and just replace them or if I should take it to the shop and work on it there.

you would need a gasket for upper intake manafold or RTV, you will need new fuel lines because yours may be brittle and need replacing. you need to memorize how your vaccume lines go, you may need to replace some of them so you are sure your not going to have a vac leak . you will need to make sure your crush washers are good around your banjo bolts into the fuel rails if you do decide to replace your fuel lines. you will need to make sure the rubber sealers are good on the injectors. i recomend you take care of the pulsation dampiner while you are in there. read up about pulsation dampener problems and leaks. its good to either treat it with jb weld or replace it with new PD or replace it with a primary fuel rail banjo bolt .

it shouldnt take long @ all. i wouldnt say you need to go to the shop. its just a matter of vac lines and bolts.

i listed that all above. these are things i had to do myself. not saying its the way your saposto do it. but it was my own personal experience
rtv or intake gasket
fuel lines if britle
vac lines if brittle
pulsation dampener mod or replace. (look it up)
if removing fuel line bolts, dont loose crush washers
throtle cable needs to be unlatched
coolant line to BACV needs to be unhooked.

have fun
