Replacing flywheel

I've had the tranny out of my car for a few weeks and tried pulling the flywheel today to no avail. I didn't have a problem with the 2 1/8" nut, but I cant get the flywheel off. I tried beating it off, prying it off, and using a puller, which just ended up ripping the ring gear off. Anyone have any suggestions?

Heat it up with a torch where it connects to the e-shaft, then beat the **** out of it with a hammer (on all sides/ends), and it should come off.
