replacing the factory stereo
I just bought my first RX-7 88 conv. the factory head unit and speakers are shot. I went to the local shop and he really doesnt want to mess with the headreast speakers. That leaves me with the door speakers and the dash mounts. anybody got any other ideas to get some sound out of this set up?

Hi welcome to the world of rotary! I am not too familiar with the vert setup but if I am not mistaken the doors and dash mounts are the same for every RX7. You can cross reference the size and find replacements for them by visiting crutchfield.com. Thats where I have had my best luck. As far as the headrest speakers go, perhaps you can pull one apart carefully and measure the size of the speaker and purchase an aftermarket. I am sure there are plenty of vert owners on this site who might have better suggestions for the headrest speakers.
Good luck

Here is the link to crutchfield.com

Thats specific to 88 verts. They had several option under what style radio you had but I figured that the speakers should be the same.
If the link doesn't work just start from scratch
