You dont need to get it a specific height. Just make sure you use jack stands and have enough clearance for your body and to be able to work (hassle free). Just make sure that you chuck your wheels (if your not lifting the entire car at once) and be safe. I dont wanna see another rex owner get crushed. lol, j/k. Have fun.

p.s.-- Do you know that changing the clutch on my 1st rx7 was my first piece of mechanical work. If you use the FSM and follow all instructions and pictures. It should be in and out in less than a day (3-9 hours depending on experiance). Just make sure that you have your tools. That is the most important part. Also, when you have the flywheel exposed, take it off and have it machined. That way you dont have to worry about vibrations. Good luck.

Access hole? No. You have to remove the tranny. First drop the exhaust, then the driveshaft, remove the starter, then remove the tranny. Its easier than it sounds. Esp. if you have a tranny jack (or a nice friend who will help support the tranny weight in exchange for beer.) Otherwise, its gonna be hard to put the tranny back in b/c the shaft has to line up perfect. Also, when you install the new clutch. Use the alignment tool to keep it aligned while you are installing the pressure plate. All of this is in the FSM. Or you can buy a Haynes from like any Pep Boys or Discount Auto for like $15 bucks that tells you everything from what size sockets you need to what pressure you need to torque the bolts.
