Replacing AAS shocks with aftermarkets

Just wondering, when I order my new aftermarket shocks do I have to get a different part number because I have the AAS(auto adjust suspension)? Will the regular KYB's bolt in? If so, what do I do with the motors/actuators that are on top of the AAS shocks now? Sorry if this has been posted before,I did a search and my dumb-*** couldn't find anything.

Its' the same, just leave the motors/acutators off, and remove the control unit, its located near the rear passenger side tailight(under carpeting).

I replaced the AAS shocks/struts on my 86 GXL a number of years back with KYB's. Do what Aesop Rock said and you'll be good.

take the unit out. Why have it if you don't want it or even need it?

Is there any way you can hook the aas up to aftermarket shocks like adjustables?
