Replacement oil pan
Replacement oil pan
ok so today i found out that i have a little leak in my oil pan, nothing serious its about the size of a needle but i still want to replace it, anyone know what is a decent price for one? i talked to my mechanic and he said it would be $300 dollars for everything including the pan does this sound about right ?
http://www.mazdatrix.com/boil1.htm new pan $128 , new oem gasket =$22. so assuming he uses oemNEW parts, the difference for labor is a little steep
Spend $50 more than what he would charge, buy an aluminum oil pan, and do it yourself.

Replacing an oil pan isn't really all that hard to do:
Get yourself some jacks, stands, and black RTV (if you want cheap).
Jack car up on stands
Drain oil
Jack up your engine
Remove all bolts, connections around pan, and engine mount
Replace and put everything back together
Black RTV will save you a "buundle" of money instead of wasting over $150.
