Replacement 1/4" connector housings

On a previous thread, I had mentioned a source for 1/4" male and female crimp terminals and that they are compatible with the factory 1/4" terminals.

This was my first thread on the subject.

https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/source-replacement-1-4-terminals-factory-plugs-294639/

I recently ordered more terminals and decided to get some of their housings. I got one of each with clip, 3, 4 and 6-pin. They are compatible with the factory connector housings. But, the factory terminals are not--they can not be inserted into place and lock.

Also, I can now say that the MSD-3506 Crimp jaws are correct for these terminals. They do a much better job of crimping a connector than their 3509 jaws (which are for the weathertight connectors). The specific size of these terminals is 16-14 gauge.

So if you get their housings, you also need to get their terminals?

Yes. The terminals from the source I mention have clips on the terminals that lock them in place inside the housings. Our OEM terminals are slightly different--the locking tabs are inside the housings. So this isn't a 100% factory replacement housing, but it's very close.

You can put their terminals in the stock housings.

Alright, thanks for the info and guinea pigging .

Now if I could only find a source for the injector clips that I geniusly broke (how the hell do you get those things off easy?).
