replaced speedo cable, still doesnt work... ??

MY NA throttle unscrewed itsself out of my NA transmission and got all scuffed up and wouldnt thread into my new TII trans.

so i got a turboII speedo cable and guess what!? i replaced the cable and the speedo still doesnt work. do i need to like torque down the sleeve that threads into the trans or something? i got it in there fairly tight with my hands...

anyone?

First thing I would suggest is to recheck the connection to your speedometer. It took me three times to get that thing to stay connected. The clips are kinda cheezy. If that doesnt work, your speedo gear is probably shot. The good news is that they arent expensive and still easy to install. Just disconnect the cable at the transmission. A couple of bolts takes off the housing and your gear is right there....
