CO replaced electronic oil metering pump now car cant idle

hi guys, been a while since ive posted here but believe it or not its time for the 7 to come back to life as a daily driver!

so i bought a used metering oil pump off ebay came in great shape; me and a buddy (who was kind enough to let me use his full snap on toolkit and garage lift) quickly switched it for my old junky one (which was covered in oil looks like it was a major leaker!!)

anyway the car will not idle for **** now, unless i rev it with my foot; had to drive it home like this it sucked *****

so its back in the garage my best guess is the new pump has changed to idle mixture im having a hard time locating what it could be using the search feature and would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction

thanks

thought i would add that the new metering oil pump is good - the old one would send the check engine light on and then into limp mode this one let the car run STRONG no limp mode no check engine light anymore, no lights at all in fact just unable to idle

when i start the car it revs up to 1k rpms then promptly dies

Many times the ECU will be damaged when an OMP fails. Did you re-use the same ECU?

Get a used ECU, they shouldn't be too much money.

Don't know anything about the company, just found it on the 'net:

ok let me just say this

its not my ecu the car is functioning properly the new oil metering pump is working fine;

i have narrowed it down to either the TPS, or some sort of vacuum leak
anyone that has any knowledge of this let me know if you have any ideas
