Replaced clutch and installed exhaust, no idle! CEL.

Problem: The car won't idle, if I let the revs drop and don't rev it it will die. It sputters when I rev it meaning the engine speed will keep going up and down randomly while I keep the throttle in the same position. Check engine light comes on and goes away, mostly when I'm trying to make it idle (revving at a stoplight).

Background info: Did a clutch job yesterday and put on a true dual exhaust (RB header +custom) . There was a metal pipe that ran down to the cat that was taken out obviously (maybe this is the problem?) when the exhaust was put on.

Random thoughts: There was this small black box thing with a wire that bolted on the clutch slave cylinder that I was too lazy to put back on.

I'm going to go check the usual + plugs and change the wires right now, let me know if you have any ideas! Thanks.

I don't know how to yet but I'll search for it. Also adding that I know for a fact that my BAC is bad since everything that I turn on (even auto suspension modes) will lower the idle. If I turned the AC on it would stall. I didn't think that would cause a CEL or sputtering though? I have a feeling I fucked up on the clutch/exhaust install.

Put your stock exhaust back on and see if it idles. If it idles after you install the stock exhaust then your aftermarket exhaust isnt providing enough backpressure necessary for n/a's. If it still doesnt idle after you install the stock exhaust, make sure the tps is adjusted within spec. You may have just forgot to put a ground strap back on or something like that. CHECK COMPRESSION too, and check the engine code

Well, I forgot to add that yesterday after the job was done the car ran fine. Drove it for about 3 hours around town just chillin and it ran great. Idle was always funny as usual, either going up and down or just staying at like 1200. Today when I started it up and drove it, like 20 minutes later it started acting up, so its definitely not backpressure. Engine was rebuilt 10,000 miles ago. Plugs looked pretty dirty when they were pulled a while ago, so they might just be giving up.

Huh? They need backpressure to open the 5/6th ports (S4), but not to run. At least to that extent (not sure if they need it period...).

Another random thought that I haven't searched about. Can I put seafoam in the gas tank? Haven't searched on how rotaries deal with seafoam

As far as the problem lets just say it was something reeeeeeeeeeeally stupid. I had 3 other buddies working with me so it caused some confusion.

Honestly, I have serious doubts that the stuff works at all if you put it in your gas tank. Then again, if it's going to lubricate the upper cylinders in my car... HELL YEAH!
