which Repair Manual?

If you don't have a lot of experience, start out with the Haynes, the FSM is geared more towards the Mazda shop mechanics and contains repair & troubleshooting practices requiring tooling most of us will never have. But it does make a good complement to the Haynes once you start digging into the car...

I prefer the FSM. It's bigger, it has wiring diagrams (I dont know what I'd do without those) and more in-depth when it comes to pretty much anything.
If you have a crappy internet connection like me, you can pick up an FSM for your model year (its always better if you have the exact manual for your year, another thing the FSM is better for.) off of ebay for next to nothing. I got mine for $9.50 shipped and its completely readable, no stains or anything.

You should always use both. The Haynes is written in plain English and has great photos. The FSM has far more technical info. You can't have too much info, so I wouldn't choose one over the other.
