repaint wiper arms

ok ive searched up some info on this topic, but it was all related to the engine bay it seemed....and that requires a higher quality of paint im sure

i need to repaint my wiper arms....
im gonna take them off, sand down the rust, then primer and repaint....im not looking to spend alot of money, cause this seems like it would be a very easy project for the night.....

i would rather go to walmart (if this is possible) ****** some sand paper, some spray primer, and some black spray paint, and get it done....

if this is possible, what brands should i use, and am i going in the right direction to begin with....???

can i get the right stuff at wally world, or do i need to hit up a more specialized place (which i would like to avoid)
and how much should this cost ??

thanks in advance

I used trim paint, flat black or semi-gloss. Don't go gloss, you won't be able to see on a sunny day. I didn't have rust but....

$5 Sand Paper
$5 Primer if you want
$5 Paint (auto parts store or where ever)

$15+Tax

Don't put to much thought in it. I am sure someone is going to recommend differently and something complex but, it doesn't need to be.

You have a couple of options:

Repaint with Spray bomb, I would recommend SEM Trim Paint

http://www.semproducts.com/sempages/semtrimpaint.html

-or-
Hve them powdercoated

Flat black...and the multi pack of 3M paper from walmart was what I used.

Advice, use a wet marker to make a line on your windshield of where the blades where before removal...it makes realigning them a breeze.

Tremclad Rust Paint from Walmart

I used Tremco's Temclad Semi-gloss black rust paint. The semi-gloss matches the factory finish almost exactly! Flat black paint marks easily and is not sealed against moisture as well as a semi-gloss or gloss finish.

Proper preparation is the key! Clean up the arms, wipe them down with thinner, and apply smooth light coats.

I used some rubber bumper and trim paint(I think it's semi-gloss) from autozone after a quick wetsanding, and they still look great two years later. I don't think there's much reason for priming with it either.

$.94 at Wal-Mart for a can of flat black spray paint.

For less than $10 you could buy a can of primer, sandpaper and the flat black. Two coats at least on the black to make sure it won't fade prematurely.

I usually use the cheapest spray paint I can find whenever I paint anything.....seems to work the best for me.
