Trying to remove the trunk lid off my '88 convertible, thier is one wiring harness going through the lid metal reinforcements. The FSM says to remove the brake light connectors from behind the lock striker to get the harness off.

Is this right, if so is it tough to snake the harness back through the trunk lid?

Seems like it would be easier to disconnect from behind the interior panels if possible.
