removing speedo gear..???
how do you remove the speedo gear. i've already taken out the cable..but i cant find out how in the haynes manuel and theres not a good description that i've found on here. can someone pleases help me. also one more. for the driveshaft. is it just held in by those 4 bolts then it slides out or what?
well on the drive shaft, its 4 bolts on the rear diff and then you push it forward and drop it down then it slides out..... on the speedo gear question im not quite sure what you mean.... theres just 1 bolt and then you just pull the whole works out of the tranny
you got it out?
my speedo gear broke too and i thought you had to take the whole tail off of the transmission to replace it...
are you saying you can just take off that little part where the speedo cable screws on and the gear is right there?

ya. you just take that one bolt off, then grab some big channel lock pliers and grab the threads that the speedo cable screws into and twist it, which breaks it loose then it should pull right out. make sure you something like a container cause a lot of trany fluid comes out

where the cable screws in and where the bolt screws in is all one piece. about a 1/4 in from where the threads stops behind it is the gear. the gear and the threads are all one. its just one peice that pulls out
