Removing rear storage bins?
Has anyone removed the rear storage bins, and if so can you give an estimate of how much they weigh? On my weight reduction spree I think Im going to remove them. I hardly use them anyway. Just in case you were worried, Im not just going to leave that area bare metal, I will be laying carpeting there and probably having "RX-7" embroidered in the center, to make it look nice and clean, almost factroy.
They are not justifiable to remove unless you are stripping the entire Interior.
You feel like yanking something out? Remove the Tow Hooks at both Front and Rear. Their Is a good weight In them.

These things are for sure less than 10 lbs.
Had mine out to paint the back. Tow hooks are a great idea, I'm on my way out to pull them off now.
Thanks Silverrotor

I've removed the bins. I love the fact that I can literaly lay down in my car because the seat really does retract almost totaly horizontal. Comfortable as hell if you got a pissed girlfriend for a night. Or if you're insanely tall or something.
In my opinion they also make just as good of cargo area, if not better. Less the fact you can't close them, I think its rather nice, though I had mine professionaly covered with carpeting to match the interrior. Looks very nice, I'll see if I can get some pictures.
