Ok I am making a ctach can to take that little thing out. I might also sell tham to you all if you want them. I am still trying to figure out if it would be a good deal or not.

I need to know if Oil decomposses silicone. I will probably be done with this project on friday.

Most Silicone should be okay. The stuff on my engine was sitting for over a year and it is like new.

I meant silicone for the seal on some of the connections that I am making. What I am going to try out right now is a cylinder shape with a cap with a drain plug on the bottom and a fitting for a breather on the top. Then I am going to make fitting for a metal hose barb on the side of it and put the rubber hose on that.

Ok I am about to try out my catch can on my car. But what do I do with the line that goes to the charcoal canister? Do I just cap it off at the canister?

You'll end up with white sludge in the filler neck if you remove the vaccuum source from the block.

I have a nipple that I didn't swap over on my intermediate housing preventing me from applying vaccuum to mine. Can't wait till I can fill in that hole and resume sucking fumes from the crankcase.

well the vaccume source is not the hose that I speak of. That one just goes to the charcoal canister. THe vaccume lines are on the top. The catch can is going to be attatched on the bottom one. I was going to cap the one with the vac lines though. My catch can has a breather will that help keep the sludge away?

cap the nipples on the front of the UIM where the purge used to go to.

then you have 2 nipples on the oil filler. you can run one or both to your catch can. if you run one. cap off the other one.

open vent the larger line on the charcol can. I just ran it down into the corner.

well with the parts I am using now. about 15 bux plus shipping.

I could do Higher quality but that would drive up the cost because copper or aluminum cost a bit more that the PCV stuff I used. If you all supplied your own breather filters I would be able to drop the price to about 10 bux plus shipping.

haha no I just changed it... the old pic is now "failedplans" LOL
http://www.1300cc.com/UIM/failedplans.jpg

it wasn't vented enough and I got a bunch of water and white crap in the top of the oil fillter neck.

rigiht now I don't have the can hooked up. I just have one oil filler line caped, and one nipple has a 1' line on it with a breather filter on the end. I need to change my catch can so it has a filter on it now. instead of a sealed one.

on the turbo cars it's a round thing below the I/C on the driver side. has 3 lines. 2 go to nipples on the front of the UIM. and one goes to an oil filler neck nipple.

I'm pretty sure I'm missing this, is it different on series4's? because my vacume rack is from a s4, and I've never seen what you're talking about, and I do have 1 of the filler tube hoses vented with a breather, but I still get some sludge build-up in the filler tube, and I've also noticed the hardline between the two gas lines is venting as well, I'm about ready to rip all of that out of there as I have no emissions anyway, but was trying to figure out what was causing it at the current moment.

you dont need an oil catch can, just put a t in where you had the catch can and put a little k/n air filter on it, works like a champ, no lost oil.
