You might want to try some search terms like "OMP removal" or "MOP removal" before you go taking things off. There is more to it then removing the MOP and blocking the space off. You have to run premix in the gasoline to make up for not having a functioning MOP on your car.

Yep, you have to run premix if you remove the omp.

yes the PITA of adding oil to your gas every time you fill it up, and that means never letting anyone borrow your car either.

With the amount of work you've put into your car, would YOU let someone BORROW yours?

I let my ex borrow my car one day. I asked her if she drove it hard, she said no.

A few months later she told me she red lined the **** out of it.

Other than premixing, you can pretty much just remove it and put on the block-off plate. I'm not quite sure what to do with the oil injectors and their lines, though.

Hey guys I'm thinking of removing my metering pump as well. I'm just sketched about the pre-mix oil not getting through the fuel filter, and or clogging injectors.

I have an old rotor housing and i can see the wear. It seems like the oil is not spreading properly across the apex seals. Anyway those who are running pre-mix with stock fuel system let me know please. Thanks

Keep in mind although you can remove the metering oil pump and block off the space, you must leave it connected to the wiring harness or your car will go into limp mode.

Very annoying. Not only is it a royal pain in the butt to have one more step to an already annoying process (filling up) but you must also respond to the unending stream of questions from onlookers. And there is an issue of being caught without premix (we all make mistakes) when the bottle runs dry, the likelyhood of spilling, the extra expense, etc...

But what do I know...

To the original poster, there are multiple metering oil removal mods. You will find several in the archives, and premix has been covered many, many, many times before. A search for "how to premix", "metering oil remove", "MOP removal", "OMP removal" and variations on that will all turn up all the info you need. Searching, checking the FAQ and looking in the archives should be the first thing done when you have a question.

My biggest problem with premixing was the mess. No matter what you do you will end up getting premix on you sometimes, plus whatever you hold the funnel (or whatever) in gets nasty, etc. You get the idea.

I suggest against anyone with a daily driver removing the OMP. I did and it's just sooo annoying have to premix as opposed to, well, "ignoring" it. The same goes for emissions removal... but that's me.

There's nothing wrong with a "smart" emmissions removal (keeping BAC) on a daily driver. None of that stuff really effects driveablility that much.

My premix solution:

Buy the 16oz bottles of 2 cycle - not the quart size. Toss one in at every fill up. Buy several at a time and keep them in the trunk or under the seat.

Easy easy - quit complainin!

I get out of my car smelling like I've been sucking on the exhaust for 2 hours. Somehow it's worse if my windows are open even while moving...

I'm thinking that a catch can or something where the charcoal canister used to be would help.
