Removing ignition key tumbler question...

Ok, I got a stupid question. Ok, I'm parting out my car and a guy needs the ignition key tumbler. It can be fully removed and not lock up the steering wheel right?

Thanks in advance.

The steering wheel lock bolt is mounted in the key cylinder. Once you remove the two shear screws to remove the key cylinder, you will see the wheel lock bolt (small square piece of metal). The steering wheel will not lock once the key cylinder is removed.

You know that you need to slot the screw heads in order to remove them, right?

The metal is really soft, so you will barely even wear down one cut-off disk.

Use a chisel and bang it off in the proper rotation - counter clockwise.
I get these thing off in under 5 minutes.

I just grab the heads with small locking pliers and break em loose. After that they turn easy with fingertips.
