Removing he cold start assist. Without doing the TB mod. BAC removal.

Ok I was reading up and all the threads I read were doing the TB mod and the cold start removal together. I want to wait a while to do the TB mod IF I do it at all. I do want to remove the little selenoid that is on the UIM. That is what I believe to be the cold start assiste correct? I can easily make a block-off for it as I am now handy with a dremmel What else do I have to do but without doing the TB mod just the cold start crap?

Also can i remove the BAC without doint the TB mod? I still have power steering and my heater though would that cause problems?

If the BAC is half working, you should keep it.
Without the BAC, you will need a really high idle speed to keep from stalling, and you will be getting "check engine" codes from a confused ECU.

The rest you can pull in stages.

remove the bottle and block off the hole left in the manifold from removing the solenoid. or dont remove the solenoid and just cap off the end of it

You're confusing the thermowax on the TB (increases idle when cold) and the sub-zero start assist (injects fluid into the intake to aid sub-zero starting). These are totally seperate and do not affect each other.
Removing the sub-zero system will have no effect other than removing some clutter. Removing the thermowax can be done as part of the TB mod, but it doesn't have to. The #2 secondary throttle plates and their linkage can be removed without touching the thermowax or affecting idle quality.
Also can i remove the BAC without doint the TB mod? I still have power steering and my heater though would that cause problems?
Again, the BAC valve and the TB are completely unrelated and don't affect each other. Why do you want to remove it? It's there to improve idle quality when you're running accesories. If you really want to remove it, unplug it for a few days and see if you're happy with the results.

accessories & BAC relation

you will hate it without the BAC if you are running accessories (PS, AC). If you have these things removed, no BAC needed and idle will be perfect without it, with some adjustment of course when you first remove it.

Uh well I still have PS and I have been running without the BAC for two days and not once did it stall and the idle is at the lowest possible. I just blocked it off completely.
