removing fuel pump...
I disconnected my fuel pump as I was going to pull it. I never got a chance to pull it, so I went to start it today and it wouldn't start. I sat puzzled for a little and then realized I had disconnected the power to the fuel pump. Duh.
I plugged it back in and went to crank her, nothing! Not a sound.
Did I need to pull a fuse or something before I did this?
Put the key in... depress the clutch, turn key. Silence.

so it doesn't even start to crank?
or by no sound you just mean no fuel pump?
there is a 2 hole jumper on the pass side shock tower. stick a wire from one to the other hole. turn the key to on. and listen for the pump.

Nah, battery is dead. Just wanted to know if disconnecting the fuel pump and letting it sit there for a week or so would cause any drainage / electrical cutoff.
I think i'm just going to replace the whole battery and wires.

Leaving the fuel pump disconnected will not kill the battery.
1. Should have disconnected the battery while working on the electrical system, especially around fuel
2. Use an ammeter in series with your + battery wire and the battery to check for current drains while the car is off.

Would a dead alternator cause idle issues? I haven't gotten a chance to troubleshoot further, but this came to mind. I have been having idle/power loss issues.
