Removing fan shroud?

No this isn't a thread about removing it for good, I just want to take it out so I can actually see what I'm doing behind there right now! I'm changing my belts and can't see a damn thing with my garage lighting right now and if I took the shroud off, I'd get a lot more light in there (and wouldnt have to feed belts through the fan). Took the battery out, unbolted the battery tray, unbolted the fan, and I still cant get it out! I got it partially sideways but its still stuck on the oil cooler lines, and under the filler neck on my Koyo (Its an S5). Anybody wanna help me out here?

Take the fan off. You should be able to put the belts on with all that crap on there, though.

You have to twist it a bit to get it out. It's not that difficult.

Of course it's also completely unnecessary. Getting the belts off is easy with everything in place. Just loop the belt over each fan blade one at a time until it falls out.

And get better lighting. Working in poor lighting will make every job much harder.

Stop being a wimp and give the shroud and good twist, bend and yank. It'll come right out. I do suggest removing the clutch fan. (My favorite tool for that is an old leather dress belt to use like a slip-knot to keep the water pump from turning)

yeah it'll come, just yank on it. ive replaced my belts plenty of times with everything still in there, it should be too much of a hassle

I wouldn't advise twisting and pulling it out... You could easily bend radiator fins and such.
