Uh, most people replace the entire hub...which means detaching it from the shock, lower A-arm, and steering for fronts...

Take off the grease cap on your wheel assembly....then take the Kotter pin out and disassemble and it will usually come right out. If you are replacing bearings the races inside those hubs will not come out easily. You will have to take it to a shop that can weld a bead on the races and then have them knocked out and replaced. My machine shop contact here charges me $10 per hub to do this.
$350 per hub just to change bearings is ridiculous and salvage ones are just like the ones you have, worn to the bearings uniquely.
There is also a thread on a modification that allows you to make a knotch to knock the bearings out.
Now before the experts jump on me with 20 reasons why you can't or should not do this, I have been doing it for 20 years with, as yet, no problems and have saved hundreds of dollars.
