Remove Inner Door Metal

Yes...I know that is the worst description ever for a thread title...my apologies in advance. Here is what I am trying to accomplish.

Once you remove the primary, interior door panel, there is another metal piece behind it and then the main, exterior door where the exterior door handle sits.

Between these two pieces of the door is the tabs for the trim pieces on the door . Is there a way to remove the metal piece to have better access to the trim studs (plastic pieces holding trim on) from the interior?

Thank you!

Is the question "how do I remove the trim strip from my door?"

If so http://www.tessco.com/products/displ...83&eventPage=1

I got mine at oriellies auto. You don't need to remove the interior panel for this, but even if you did, this tool helps you remove the tabs on the interior door trim. This us a very very useful tool.
