Reman motor How long until dyno?
I have around 450 miles on my new reman motor.
See my mods in my sig.
I need to dyno to get my S-AFC tuned properly (rich right now dont worry).
I talked to the shop that is going to do it and he said I shouldn't bring it in until it was broke in because they are going to be hard on the motor.
He said 500 miles was enough, but I know many say more miles are needed.
What do you think, I want to go as soon as it's safe so I can get the A/F correct?

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
Most remans should get new housings, and most new housing motors usually rise to 120-125psi compression after full breakin. Check your compression...if it is at or near 120psi, then fine, it's basically done all it's gonna do. IF it is less, then it is a judgement call. Personally, I wouldnt think you'd want to tune on a new engine, because low compression means the engine will act like it runs rich, but as compression rises, it will run less rich, if you know what Im saying. I wouldnt want to tune on an engine that hasn't fully developed, because the state of the engine is constantly changing during breakin.
I would say around 1000-1500 miles is better.

Thats what I thought.
I was going to wait until around 1000.
It just bugs me I don't know the A/F ratio because my 720cc primaries and S-AFC are altering stock fuel mapping.
What you said about running rich during breakin makes sense.
When I first was breaking in the motor I had to lean the S-AFC out to around -15 to -20.
Now if I I run the S-AFC that lean it runs bad so I have it at -10 at 1K then -5 at 1500 and 0 2k and 3k.
Above that is irrelevant because I dont rev past 3k yet.
Do those numbers sound to rich for 720cc primaries?
