Question Release Bearing and Pilot Bearing

Is there a difference between a set of the above that come with a clutchmasters stage 3 clutch and the ones i can get at Autozone? I'm going to purchase a clutch and pressure plate and the seller doesnt have the bearings. I'm sure i'd feel better about getting brand new ones anyways. Thanks in advance.

Probably not, imo. You have to watch the pilot bearings they thow in some kits. I got one once with an obviously wrong one in it. I didn't need it anyway so it was no big deal. Just get a quality name set of bearings and you'll be good to go.

You should always replace the pilot bearing if you are replacing the clutch. Swapping a pilot bearing takes 20 minutes. Removing the tranny and clutch assembly 3 weeks after you replaced them due to a failed pilot bearing takes much more then 20 minutes.

No doubt, Koyo is what ACT bundles and it works fine. I dropped mine and broke one of the arms that holds on to the fork, I just ran out and got one from a parts store and it works fine...

Koyo is what comes stock for most bearings in the rx7.
