would a hood from a 89 fit on my 87

 

as far as I know all hoods are interchangeable. I have an 88 hood on my 87sport

 

yes it would fit fine.

but remember that if the 89 hood is aluminum, (or the 87) you should also swap the hinges and latch, as there are specific hinges and latchs for the aluminum hoods and mixing and matching with steel hoods and their hinges and latchs will result in the hinge or hood disolving.
