Reinstalling P/S in an S4 SE
Yeah, that's the plan. I searched quickly, but didn't really find exactly what I was looking for, so I decided to make a thread. As well, I'm aware that most people don't like power steering in their FC's, but I'm only a first year driver looking for a comfortable daily driver, and would like the comfort of P/S, at least until I get a little more "confident" on the road. If you want muscular arms, go work out XD
My engine bay has a pretty open gap, so I'm quite sure my car used to have PS. Both the 87.5 and 88 SE models had stock P/S according to IceMark's threads stickied, so I think I should be able to do it. Basically...
What will be needed, what are the steps, will it be expensive, should I get a shop to do it instead, etc?

Did this car have power steering at one point?
Look under the steering column, to the left. The power steering computer should sit right there in a bracket. If it's not there, then you have some work to do and parts to procure, lol...

or just look where the steering column meets the steering rack are there 3 bolts just screwed in holding nothing??
or better yet send a pic.. cause if you have a manual rack then you have a bit of work ahead of you.. and if you get a shop to do it i'm pretty sure it will get $$$..$$$$$$
anyways just poste a pic

Yeah, if I have a manual rack then I'm just not gonna bother, haha. I'll have to check later today, it's too dark out right now =P I'll probably grab a camera tonight and snap a couple pictures too, because odds are I wouldn't recognize it if I saw it >.<
On an unrelated note, I think I knocked something having to do with my alarm, because it's working differently now lol O.o

Eh, sorry to double post.. Could anyone show me a pic of exactly what/where I'm looking? I took a quick look yesterday but wasn't sure exactly what I should be looking for... >.<

look under your dash, to the left of the steering column, a little box (some say gold, black, or silver) with a big plug connected to it. if its there, than you had p/s at one time.
