Just an update... My problem was my AFM. Mine tested out fine, but the car never ran right. There must have been something wrong internally with the flapper mechanism.

I replaced it with a used one I bought from another member, and the car runs much better now.

i was going to suggest putting the saw-blade back in the engine... so you can actually drive the car....

then offer to sell you a new afm....

Keep that saw blade, it might be useful later on for fixing other things!! Hell, if it works for an AFM, maybe I should stick sawblades all over my car to fix it.

I can see it now... one in the window regulator... one in the wiper switch.... one in the ECU....

toss a good AFM in it and stop ignoring what everyone said.

if it really winds up not being the AFM then you sell it for what you paid for it. the sheer amount of people saying it is the AFM should give you an idea of how crappy these units are and known for their fuel pump switch failures. i have tested AFMs more than a few times and the tests never run true to the performance of the units, an AFM that tests perfectly out in the FSM when put in the car may not perform at all like it should.

don't believe that all of the tests in the FSM will be 100% accurate and tell you that a part is for definite a GOOD part.

True that. I replaced a distributor in a MX-3 because the RESISTANCE check by the FSM said it was bad. Turned out to be a bad ECU. I went by-the-book at first, then used my ol' hatrack after getting burned by the FSM. Use your head, it works

BTW, he already fixed it, Karack.
