redline buzzer is now going off at 5k

while replaced my clutch i disconnected the connectors to drop the tranny, after i put everything back the redline buzzer now goes off when i hit 5k.. engine still revs to 7k just fine but drives me nuts for the last 2k rpm.especially when there are girls in the car (they think the engine is gonna pop out of the hoodor something)..i know the connection is not right somewhere but cant seem to find anything in the FSM addressing this problem....

thx

Remember, that buzzer has three very important functions:

Over-rev warning, low coolant, and low oil.

If you disconnect it, you'll feel like an *** when your engine overheats.

The coolant buzzer is a real drag because it can be a bugger to get the air out of the system.

yeah i would run down the prob in the connection/wiring and electrical system, insted of disconecting the entire warning buzzer

yeah i would first try to run down the electrical/conection problem before thinking of disconecting the warning buzzer

if its happening at 5000 rpm, you might also wanna check your coolant system for air. just a hunch but it may be causing premature or too much cavitation, in turn, makeing the buzzer howl.

im not sure if the S4 tanny's have the same wiring as S5 but there are 4 wires down there that you can unplug. did you connect them in the right order i just dropped my tranny but before i took off the wires i marked them first.
