Redline buzzer coming on a little too late

Usually when I redline my car, I shift just before or at 8k rpm, so I don't usually hear the buzzer. Well, the past few times I decided to make it go off it didn't buzz until about 8300 rpm, and it used to go off right at 8k. Does anyone know what would make it all of a sudden go off at 8300 instead of 8000? I never bring my car up that high and I always keep an eye on my tach, but I would rather it go off at 8k for safety reasons. It still reacts normal to the coolant and oil getting low, which has happened once for each (only for less than half a second when making a sharp turn). Any suggestions?

You'll have to wait for Icemark or somebody smarter, but... if I remember correctly, there's a potentiometer in the back of the gauge cluster that can adjust the time at which the buzzer goes off. Maybe yours fell out of adjustment?

There are two pots, one metal one, and one plastic one. You want to turn the metal one towards the tach about a 1/4 turn to drop the RPM buzzer about 1000 RPM.

I've read threads on adjusting it, I just don't know what would throw it out of adjustment all of a sudden. Like I said, it was fine for a while, but recently it's been coming on late.

Yeah turn the metal one. Do NOT turn the plastic one.

yep, exactly right.

The plastic one is the tach calibration, while the metal one is the redline buzzer calibration
