Recommendations on standard replacements on low mileage but aged motor?

I bought a 1988 TII motor with 150 miles on it. Only thing is, that this is a factory motor from 1988 but it just doesn't have hardly any miles on it since it was removed from the car soon after it was released on the showroom floor.

The motor turns over (hand turned it by spinning flywheel) and the turbo spins fine with no shaft play. Got a lil surface rust on some of the outer metal but other than that, visually it looks fine.

My question is, what would you guys recommend that I replace on this motor, if anything at all? The reason I bought it was because it cost half the price of a ful rebuild of my existing blown motor and I figured even if I have to replace stuff on this motor, it still would cost less than a full rebuild. Should I just drop this motor in? Or is there some things I should replace on it, due to its age?

with that low of mileage i would say drop it in if it has been stored in a clean/dry environment.

I don't think any oil was in there, since none came out of the oil cooler or other hoses. I guess it doesn't hurt to just try and drop it into the car and try to start it up. i'll prolly just replace the rear main seal since its exposed and a lil dirty. But yea I can drop it in and then compression test it and if its a lil low, do the ATF thing.

So what's the story behind that? That would be the equivalent of going and buying a top of the line 06 350Z, driving it home, and pulling the engine. Only people with a LOT of money do that, like race teams and sponsored setups.

Well the motor was from a recovered stolen car. Back in 1988, somebody stole the car off the showroom floor, drove it around for a little while, then tried to strip the car and sell it for parts. He was caught before he finished stripping it, so insurance got the car and the junkyard got the motor from the car.
