recent problem

hey there i recently have been having a problem with my 87 TII
sometimes it seems that the stereo will cut out, and i dont mean like the subs or the amp, like the radio will cut out and skip as if it was a cd player but its not
as well while that is happening my car starts going beep beep.... beep beep..... beep beep
i have no idea what could be the cause of either, and i already tried searching
and ideas would be greatly appreciated
thanks

marshall

More then likely the standard cold solder problem in the stereo. Also, before you pull apart the stereo, check the wiring harness for frays or tears.

my hatch light used to stay on too....
i would have to reopen it, crack a window and slam it....
it would latch before, but if no windows were down up front the pressure i guess would not let it close all the way

I still believe it is a problem with the stereo itself. The hatch light is probably just incidental.

You may also want to try wiggling the key, I have ran into a couple different 7's that the ignition switch was wearing out in. the sun roof wouldn't close, and the stereo would cut in and out. just a suggestion...
