Jrats, reccomendation for passing emissions
1. Turn variable resistor to full lean, or as lean as you can get and still run.
2. Trick ACV into pumping air to the cat all the time by removing the FORWARD UPPER vac hose, and capping it.
3. Run 87 octane
4. Run your tank down till your almost empty.
5. 2-3 bottles of alcohol in the tank. Drive VERY GINGERLY to the emissions station.
6. Once you pass go, DIRECTLY to a gas station and fill up with regular unleaded.
I have some questions on a couple of these.
1. I have a S-AFC installed but it is not tunned nor do i know how to adjust it. Can someone tell me just how much to adjust my S-AFC to make it lean enough for the test?
5. 2-3 bottles of alcohol?? Like exactly what amount am i adding and what type, rubbing alcohol? Jack Daniels?
And lastly i just want to clarify that what im doing is even remotely safe considering im putting 87 octane in my TII and that im going to be running alcohol. I mean yeah i can drive carefully there but the dude driving wont know that when hes got it on the dyno!! I just dont want my engine to blow up.

LMAO!!!!
Okay, first off... If you want to control your primaries at idle, adjust the low setting, 1000 RPM. It will take your idle pulse down (I have tested this).
You are adding isopropyl alcohol... DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO INTO BOOST!!!!
I used this to get alot of N/A cars through emissions, cant say I used it on a TII yet...

I didn't have to use alcohol to pass emissions, here's how I passed:

Also, for leaning out your car for the test, go into low throttle and the 1000rpm range. Keep subtracting fuel until your car wants to die, and then add a little more back until it idles a little better. As for leaning it out for the cruise test, go into hi throttle in the 2000 - 3000 range (since you're turbo you dont want to lean out where you'll be boosting most likely) and then say set it to -10 or -12 or something.

oh **** well unless im the one thats going to be stepping on the gas i really would rather not take the risk i mean its crazy to put that **** into my car i boost really easily normaly...although i will be running a very restriced exaust once i get it on so.
I just dont think its worth the risk
There has to be a way this can be tweaked for a TII

Yah I'm lucky I dont have a visual, but what if say you had the ACV in but just had the rubber tubing going around/under it I mean the ACV would be installed still, but instead of going through it you can hook the air pump straight up to the cat.

They didn't say anything about the ACV not being there when we went 20min ago. The car failed on CO, 39 and limit is 15 parts per mill. We're gonna try messing with the SAFC tho.

lol your car legit??? You ran it w/ a NA manifold last time I saw!
My friend said they give you one retest free and that I should just slap a cat on and run through. He said the guys will probably have no idea what their looking at!
I also have a buddy in Mesa emissions if push comes to shove.
Hey Aaron. Are you guys trying to pass a TII or NA?
I have a Bonez downpipe and high flo cat which I passed easily with(for NA).

^^^ stock cat, airpump straight to cat, no acv, 1/8th tank of 91, 2 bottles of alcohol, and leaned out 13% from 1000-3000 on lo- and hi-throttle positions on the safc.
bitches get stitches, and thanks so much again aaron.

Yes it is ok temporarily, but dont like daily drive your car hooked up like that, otherwise your cat will die eventually. For the s-afc, go in lo throttle for the idle (1000 rpm setting) and keep taking off fuel until your car starts to want to die, then add a little back to where it still idles ok. For cruise settings, go into hi throttle for 2000 and 3000 rpm settings and subtract at least as much as you did for idle, probably a few more.
