rebuilt/port/emissions questions
I have an unregistered TII that I am about to rebuild. Once I rebuild and streetport, I am going to have to get emissions so I can register. I am going to use a friends exhaust, air pump and all the other emissions crap so I can pass. Will having the restrictive emmission affect my break in period/have negative effects? Should I just drive around illegally? Also, when I took my honda in last time, the guy almost redlined my car and was pushing pretty heavy throttle...I am just afraid all of my work will go down the drain because I have to pass emissions .... any thoughts?
Thanks,
Ben
Thanks,
Ben

Same situation i'm in. Have to break in the new engine before i go to emissions. Here in Chicago I can get a temporary thing which basically lets me drive it around for a week so I can get done what is need to and take the test.
Putting 1500 miles on the car in 6-7 days.
I owned the car for nearly a year and only put 2000 miles on it.
This is gonna be fun.

Either way if you fail the first time you go you can always put some methyl hydrate in your tank(gas line antifreeze) or just a few bottles of isoprophyl alcohol will work. Search for ways to pass, I asked pretty much this same question not too long ago.

I'm not too worried about actually passing, I am worried about improperly breaking in my engine. I think I will look into a temporary waiver as well, I think AZ has some sort of program like that. Thanks
