Rebuilt Motors

I need a rebuild or j-spec for my 87 TII, I'm looking for the best price/reliability/service but mostly concerned about price. I would like a street port and an engine capable of 400+ HP. I am also considering a turbo upgrade from BNR super cars. Are 3mm apex seals necessary?? So far i think i like fc3s.org because they offer cryogenic treatment and that may be used in place of 3mm.. How easy it to street port a j-spec from what i understood you would have to tear the whole engine apart.

thanks

For porting any engine you will have to tear it apart. There is a person on this forum, hypntz7, that can hook you up with a rebuilt and streetported engine for ~ $1500. Thats probably at least 1/2 what youd pay somewhere else.

THE BEST engines are from PINEAPPLE RACING. NEW Housings, decades of RACING experience and a CARING ATTITUDE!. Rob takes the time to figure out what you need. He costs more, but you will end up with the TIGHTEST, Highest Compression engine available with a standard 2 YEAR warrenty and an optional 5 YEAR.

motors get expensive after awhile, believe me i went through at least 3 in the past year. i had one that was rebuilt by mazda, 2 that my friend and i rebuilt and one now that i m dropping in that i purchased off of ebay. i probably would of been bettter off just spending 3 grand and got one from atkins or someone like that. i was thinking about going to a jspec but have heard some stories that frighten me. a used motor is a used motor. make a good decision whatever you do. actually what does everyone think about rebuilders and jspec motors?

i may end up doing the jspec thing and run that with NO mods until i can afford a AWSOME "Do-IT-Right-The-First-TIme" rebuilt.... only thing i'm afraid of is my lack of ability to save money but i will just not cash every other check.. best way to save.....

To tell you the truth, Id take a jspec over some unknown rebuilt engine. There is very few people I would accept a rebuilt motor from.

Actually Id take one of kevins rebuilds over atkins. Ive heard of a few **** motors from them (but everyone ***** up some time, **** happens). Im sure they were replaced or whatever. But Kevins work (from what Ive heard) is very good, and he is cheap! I have not seen 1 complaint about him.
