Rebuilt engine cranks OK, but won't start??
I just finished building my first engine, an 88na. We went to start it, and it won't. It sounds like it gets real close, but just not close enough. Tried pull starting it, and it fired up, then died as soon as throttle is applied and won't Idle on its own. After the pull start, it won't start on it's own either. Tried the fuel kill switch trick too and nothing. I'm running out of ideas. If any of you guys have any ideas, I would appreciated anything that might help.
Thanks,
- Curt

search it curtass!! anyway, since he already started the thread, i'll add my post from another forum. my car btw :
ok, i know there are probably a few of these threads around, but the search engine won't work for me right now (from the other forum anyway), so here it is.
88 n/a
pulled, mild street ported, and rebuilt
RA kit
removed OMP, Air pump, diconected egr and acv. new clutch. other mods will come back to me i a second i bet. full exhaust, K&N cone.
engine turns over well, and sounds like it's trying to start for sure. fuel is there, as is spark. also we took the timing light to it and that's cool too. even tried to pull start with a truck, which got it going, but it would quikly die once you gave it gas.
anyway the problem is hopefully just flooding, as the timing is correct and everything is hooked up fine. i hope. i have the kill switch already, but it's not really helping. any other tips for unflooding?
could the disconected acv be the source of a huge vacuum leak? i meant to put on a plate but had no metal around at the time.
after the plugs are fouled, can they be permanately damaged, or does it just take time for them to un foul?
