rebuilt

I have a 86 GXL N/A that I replaced all the fuel lines, PD,vacuum lines, installed 550cc INJ (which work better),installed new water pump, water hoses, oil cooler lines, cleaned up entire engine box. I'm wanting to upgrade the intake and exhaust next. Anybody have a good source to purchase the best products so that I can install it next? I also want to get a dash kit to install a replacement stereo and guages. Any ideas?

I think you got off on the wrong foot here.....the stock injectors have a tendency to run rich, so putting in 550's is not the way to go unless you already have a bunch of mods and are starving your engine of fuel. Not only that, but you also need to keep in mind that your injectors can only supply as much fuel to the engine as your fuel pump supplies to them. If your fuel pump is stock, you are using bigger injectors to push the same amount of gas into the engine. Whenever you add things like bigger injectors, you also must update whatever controls them. Your ECU(stock I assume) is not programmed to show you any benefit from those. All of this adds up to money poorly spent. You can get an intake, exhaust, and several other mods, and retain the stock injectors safely, and still see more power. What you need to do is search in here before you spend any more money. Search for the thread "how to make a beefy NA" and read it thru.

But before you do any mods, it is always a good idea to get all the maintenance done. Make sure everything works stock, and you will have fewer problems when adding mods.

550cc injectors without major engine mods or a fuel controller have been time and time again proven to actually lower HP.

Remember the non-turbos run way way rich above 5000 RPM. Increasing the fuel is about the worst thing you can do, and will (without any doubts) lower your peak HP.
